How to Market Your Gym Franchise to Get the Most Out of the Holiday Season 902 1024 Fit Body Boot Camp

How to Market Your Gym Franchise to Get the Most Out of the Holiday Season

The scales don’t always tip in our favor during the holidays. Last-minute shopping trips and countless get-togethers make carving out time for the gym challenging, and avoiding decadent seasonal treats can be just as difficult. Long story short, many people put a pause on healthy habits until the New Year.

Without a comprehensive strategy in place, like at Fit Body Boot Camp, this consumer mindset can also make it difficult for gym franchise owners to market their business during the holidays. However, our strategy helps Fit Body Boot Camp gym owners find ways to attract new clients while retaining existing ones – the keys to marketing and running a popular fitness business.

Here’s how to market your gym franchise to get the most out of the holiday season:

  1. Keep Existing Gym Members Engaged with Holiday Contests and Competitions
  2. The holiday season may seem like the prime time to indulge and pack on the pounds, but it also represents a significant opportunity to motivate and engage your existing clients. This will, in turn, often drive long-term retention.

Many gym owners focus their marketing efforts on attracting new clients, but the reality is that most people are not looking to join a gym during the holidays. Plus, it costs nine times as much to acquire a new client as it does to retain an existing one.[i] That’s not to say generating new leads isn’t important, but during the holiday season, your marketing focus is best left to member retention.

Introducing holiday-themed contests and competitions for existing members can be one of the best ways to boost engagement. Holding these internal contests is an effective strategy to show your appreciation for your clients while motivating them to stay fit during the holidays.

Every holiday season, Fit Body Boot Camp franchise owners host a “0 lb. Challenge” to engage clients and incentivize healthy choices during the holidays. Instead of encouraging weight loss like other seasonal, internal competitions, the “0 lb. Challenge” simply motivates clients to not gain any additional holiday weight. Because the average American gains at least one pound during the holidays, this contest was created to encourage clients to enjoy the holidays in moderation, without imposing unrealistic expectations on their fitness journey.[ii]

When clients succeed in the challenge, they’re eligible to win various prizes, such as a discounted monthly membership. This creates excitement and enthusiasm among clients while setting them up for success throughout the holidays and beyond. With the additional engagement and motivation, clients are also much more likely to continue their memberships in the New Year.

  3. Build Interest for Your Fitness Franchise among New Clients
  4. Gym membership rates peak during the months following December. More than 12 percent of Americans join a gym in January – a notable spike from the 8 percent on average who join during the rest of the year.[iii]

While potential new clients are distracted by festivities during the holidays, it’s the perfect time to build your e-mail list and begin generating interest among new prospects. This helps you capitalize on the seasonal spike before it even begins, so you can hit the ground running with lead generation in January.

For instance, Fit Body Boot Camp franchise owners build their e-mail lists throughout the holidays by sending prospects useful tools, such as free, downloadable holiday recipe guides and meal plans. This informative content provides value to leads while positioning Fit Body Boot Camp as a go-to resource to help jumpstart their New Year’s resolution.

Before the New Year even rolls around, interested prospects will already have Fit Body Boot Camp top-of-mind to help them achieve their fitness and wellness goals.

  5. Support a Charitable Cause and Spark Community Involvement for Your Gym

The holiday season is the perfect time to give back to the community and support charitable causes — and effectively incorporate them into your marketing plan.

Although fundraising and community outreach are year-long initiatives at Fit Body Boot Camp, franchise owners are able to leverage peoples’ heightened generosity, awareness and support during the holidays to give back.

As part of our Charity Check-In program, franchise owners raise money every month for various philanthropies. Six will be causes supported by global organizations, and six will be causes supported by local organizations. The global organizations are selected by the headquarters team, while the local organizations are chosen by franchisees, who know their communities better than anyone else. In December, Fit Body Boot Camp franchise owners will focus support on local shelters and food banks. The ultimate goal of the program is to raise $250,000 for charitable causes over the next year.

Aside from making a positive impact on countless communities, charitable campaigns also represent a strong marketing opportunity. Each campaign is assigned similar hashtags from the Fit Body Boot Camp headquarters team. Franchisees share these hashtags with their coaches, who encourage clients to use them when they check in. In addition to social media marketing tactics, the headquarters team also provides other marketing collateral to franchise owners to boost brand awareness and garner support.

By giving back, franchise owners can engage existing members, while creating new connections and boosting brand awareness in their community.

Ben Jones - Fit Body Boot Camp franchise owner
Fit Body Boot Camp Was the Perfect Fit for Army Veteran with a Drive to Help Others 400 601 Fit Body Boot Camp

Fit Body Boot Camp Was the Perfect Fit for Army Veteran with a Drive to Help Others

In June 2014, Ben Jones opened his first Fit Body Boot Camp franchise with no previous business ownership experience, but a passion for wellness and helping clients get fit.

Now, he owns eight franchises across the Phoenix metropolitan area, boasting 30 to 50 percent aggregate year-over-year growth since his first opening.

“I’ve always had an interest in personal training and fitness, but it was never my plan to open a gym franchise until later in my career,” Ben said.

Inspired by a family friend who worked in government surveillance, Ben initially had aspirations to become an agent with the FBI. He graduated college with a degree in dietetics, but decided to enlist in the army his first year out of school, in order to lay the groundwork for a post-military career in federal investigations.

“I was part of the military police,” Ben said. “This gave me a great deal of experience in a similar area while still letting me pursue a more diverse background.”

Setting a Strong Foundation to Open a Fitness Franchise

Ben was deployed to Iraq from 2006 to 2007, working in convoy security throughout his tour of duty. During his time overseas he became more familiar with the franchise model.

“One of my fellow unit members spent a lot of his downtime researching different business and franchise opportunities as career options for when he returned home,” Ben said. “At this point, my career goals and aspirations had changed because I realized I really wanted to own my own business.”

For Ben, owning a fitness franchise seemed like a great opportunity since he had always been interested in health and wellness.

“I worked as a personal trainer right out of high school and through college – it’s always been a passion of mine, and that didn’t stop when I was deployed,” he said. “I really enjoyed being able to help people, as well as myself, stay in shape throughout our time there.”

From Serving His Country to His Community: A Business that Gives Back

In October 2007, Ben’s military tour ended, and he returned home to the U.S. He worked in medical sales for several years before deciding to take the leap into business ownership, investing in his first Fit Body Boot Camp franchise.

“I signed the franchise agreement in March of 2014, and we held our official opening that June. It was a quick turnaround,” Ben said. “I poured my heart and soul into the business and followed the system, and the growth I started seeing was incredible.”

Since his first location, Ben has expanded his footprint and opened at least one additional Fit Body Boot Camp franchise every year. He now also manages 50 to 60 employees across his eight locations at any given time.

“As the business grows, particularly if you experience really fast growth, you have to be able to quickly adapt and account for changes,” Ben said. “I think that was my biggest takeaway and transferable skillset from the military – seeing what it means to be a leader and part of a team. You have to embrace every part of business ownership, be able to adapt and enjoy your successes.”

Ben plans to continue expanding across Arizona and even into neighboring states, but it isn’t his business’ fast growth that makes the opportunity so rewarding for him.

“Fit Body Boot Camp is an amazing concept because it’s much more than just a gym or business – it’s an avenue to directly impact peoples’ lives in a positive way,” Ben said. “It’s so fulfilling when members come up to me and say, ‘Thank you for changing my life and helping me get healthier, mentally and physically.’ We provide a community and focus on serving others to help them accomplish their goals and live better lives.”

Stronger Together: Fit Body Boot Camp Support Helps Drive Growth for Franchisees and the Brand

By Bryce Henson, VP of Coaching & Profitability for Fit Body Boot Camp

Delivering on our core values – drive change, exceed expectations – is key to the success of our clients, and it’s also key to helping our franchisees reach their goals. Our ongoing support enables Fit Body Boot Camp franchisees to have a greater impact on clients’ lives, which, in turn, has a greater impact on franchise owners’ income. Along with the abundant marketing support we provide, we offer year-round training opportunities because a team trained at a higher level, produces at a higher level.

Initial Support Starts Franchisees off on the Right Foot

When you sign on to be a part of the Fit Body Boot Camp team, one of the first action steps your onboarding specialist will assist you with is site selection for your Fit Body Boot Camp gym in your thoroughly researched market. You and the specialist will work with a local real estate broker to view sites with high visibility in areas with the right demographics for Fit Body Boot Camp.

Once the lease is signed, the team at Fit Body Boot Camp headquarters creates your website and social media sites, which will be helpful for developing awareness in your market.

You will also begin working with your Coaching and Profitability (CAP) coach, who serves on a team of six business coaches. The CAP Department is made up primarily of other Fit Body Boot Camp owners, who have been with the brand four or more years and understand the challenges and rewards of owning a fitness franchise. The coach assigned to you will serve as your mentor leading up to your gym opening and for the duration of your Fit Body Boot Camp franchise ownership.

The CAP team also leads the in-person FBBC University training sessions at our headquarters in Chino Hills, California, where you will learn more about the Fit Body Boot Camp franchise model. Resources for your online training can be found on the FBBC University intranet site. FBBC University sessions are held four times a year for new and existing owners.

New franchisees are introduced to Fitness Marketer Lab, our partner in digital marketing and advertising. Fitness Marketer Lab and your CAP coach will launch your grand opening program 12 weeks before you open the doors to your gym to help you generate client leads and convert them into paying clients. This comprehensive marketing program features a multi-channel approach to digital marketing, including a combination of traditional local PR support and media outreach, promotional giveaways, e-mail campaigns and social media ads.

Ongoing Support Drives Change, Exceeds Expectations for All

Because reaching your goals as a fitness franchise owner is important to us, we provide ongoing support after you open the doors of your Fit Body Boot Camp gym.

For example, we know that attracting new clients and keeping existing clients engaged with the workouts and the brand is essential to membership growth and retention. Fit Body Boot Camp developed three group challenges, which are held at different times of the year when people are thinking about their health – the beginning of the year, summer and fall – to attract and inspire new and existing clients. We provide everything you need to run the group challenges, including all the marketing and promotional assets for franchisees, as well as food lists, meal plans, journals and more to share with your clients.

Among the post-opening support we offer are opportunities for continuous training to help you and your team deliver the best, most effective Fit Body Boot Camp experience to your clients.

Training opportunities include:

    • World Conference

Fit Body Boot Camp’s annual two-day convention in April features training for owners, facility leaders, coaches and administrators, along with presentations on motivation, team building, developing culture and more by inspirational entrepreneurial leaders in the fitness industry. Breakout sessions provide additional insight into a variety of aspects of running your gym, including coaching, operations, programming and more.

    • Domination Day

This full day of training is hosted by Fit Body Boot Camp’s Vice President of Product and Client Experience Matt Wilber, who is the brand’s most financially successful franchisee. On Domination Day, which is held the day before World Conference, Matt shares the best practices he utilized to get where he is and how he remains there.

    • Mastermind

This additional, high-end training opportunity is ideal for owners who want to become multi-unit franchisees. Held for two intensive days, three times a year, it includes speakers, work sessions and sharing best practices. You’re also provided an accountability coach and access to a private Facebook group for Mastermind franchisees.

We Grow with our Franchise Owners

A rising tide lifts all ships. The more we support our franchises, the more clients they attract. Those clients then get better results and preach about their experience to friends and family. This strengthens the Fit Body Boot Camp brand on both a local and national level, which allows each location to make more income and impact and allows the franchise to expand into more territories. This is how we grow together.

Fit Body Boot Camp Launches Charity Initiative that Benefits Franchise Owners as well as Philanthropic Organizations 1024 683 Fit Body Boot Camp

Fit Body Boot Camp Launches Charity Initiative that Benefits Franchise Owners as well as Philanthropic Organizations

Fit Body Boot Camp’s core values – drive change, exceed expectations – apply not only to the workouts our franchisees facilitate in markets around the globe, but they also apply to how we operate in the world as well as in each community.

We are continuing our mission to inspire wellness and change lives beyond the walls of Fit Body Boot Camp gyms with a new fundraising initiative, Charity Check-In, that aims to raise $250,000 for charitable causes over the next year. Fit Body Boot Camp’s Charity Check-In begins this month (October) with hundreds of gyms in the franchise aiming to raise more than $25,000 in 30 days for Bright Pink, a national non-profit organization that focuses on prevention of and education on breast cancer.[i]

There are many benefits for franchisees who participate in the initiative, including increased visibility and brand awareness. Participation will also endear their Fit Body Boot Camp gyms to their communities.

How Fit Body Boot Camp Franchise Owners Help

Here’s how Fit Body Boot Camp’s Charity Check-In works:

Every month, Fit Body Boot Camp will support one cause. Six will be causes supported by global organizations, and six will be causes supported by local organizations. The global organizations are selected by the headquarters team, while the local organizations are chosen by franchisees, who know their communities better than anyone else.

Fit Body Boot Camp locations will donate every month to help provide funding for:

  • Delivery of healthcare to children
  • Empowerment of young people to make a difference in the world
  • Research and awareness of deadly diseases and traumatic conditions
  • Boosting humanitarian aid
  • Support for homeless and abused animals
  • The fight against hunger
  • The purchase of holiday gifts for children
  • Promoting clean drinking water
  • Driving awareness of the need for blood donations
  • Providing school supplies for underprivileged children

Through previous charity campaigns, Fit Body Boot Camp has had tremendous success helping philanthropic organizations serve their constituents. Working as a unified force with our franchise owners, we accomplished the following:

  • Helped nearly 100 children get adopted through Compassion International
  • Donated $250,000 worth of toys to Toys for Tots in 2018
  • Donated almost $1 million to Shriners Children’s Hospital

A Client-Driven Campaign Each Month

Fit Body Boot Camp clients play an integral part in the Charity Check-In initiative.

Starting with the Bright Pink campaign, clients at participating locations can join the fight against breast cancer by checking-in at their Fit Body Boot Camp gym on Facebook and Instagram throughout October. Each time a client checks in using the hashtag #fbbcfightsbreastcancer, their location will donate to Bright Pink.

Each campaign will be assigned similar hashtags from the Fit Body Boot Camp headquarters team. Franchisees will share these hashtags with their coaches, who will encourage clients to use them when they check in.

In addition to hashtags, Fit Body Boot Camp will provide other marketing collateral to boost awareness of each cause and the brand’s part in helping it.

Ultimately, the initiative will create public relations and marketing opportunities for franchise locations at the local level and for the brand on a global scale.

The Rewards of Philanthropy

Supporting charities is good for business, both inside and outside the walls of each franchise location.

On top of feeling great after their 30-minute workouts, clients also feel good about participating in the initiative, thus enhancing the community spirit inherent in the Fit Body Boot Camp concept. This has the potential to boost referrals and organic marketing, which allows franchise owners to focus on serving their clients.

Fit Body Boot Camp team members feel good, too. While they’re an important part of helping clients feel better, they also want to do additional meaningful work and contribute to something greater than themselves. The Charity Check-In initiative gives them the opportunity to contribute to their communities and beyond.

Besides the satisfaction franchisees feel for being a part of something bigger than themselves, they also appreciate the autonomy of selecting which local charity they want to support.

The larger community also looks more favorably upon Fit Body Boot Camp because it’s a fitness franchise with a heart. Caring is an attractive quality to consumers. By helping local and large, global charitable organizations, businesses endear themselves to their communities. When that happens, community members typically want to become customers, or, in this case, Fit Body Boot Camp clients.

What Drives Certain Fitness Franchises, Such as Fit Body Boot Camp, to Grow Quickly 713 449 WebDev

What Drives Certain Fitness Franchises, Such as Fit Body Boot Camp, to Grow Quickly

The fitness industry is strong in 2019 and getting stronger. With a nationwide drive to improve their health, more Americans are purchasing gym memberships and working out. In 2018, memberships increased by 2.6 percent over 2017, from 60.9 million to 62.5 million. Members visited their gyms 6 billion times in 2018 and contributed to a 7.8 percent revenue growth, up from $30 billion in 2017 to $32.3 billion in 2018.

Fitness franchises are reaping the rewards as consumers become more health conscious. Astute entrepreneurs have taken notice of the unrelenting demand and are investing in gym or club franchises. But, not every fitness franchise is created equal. Those that best meet consumer demand are growing quickly – such as Fit Body Boot Camp. With more than 700 locations – and counting – in the United States, Canada, Australia and the United Kingdom, Fit Body Boot Camp is the fastest growing fitness boot camp brand.

What do Consumers Want from Their Fitness Franchises?

The No. 1 priority among gym members is to achieve their goals, whether that’s losing weight, getting fit or simply maintaining their health. However, 89 percent of them never see those desired results. This fact, coupled with the growing demand for specialized workout plans, has stunted big box gym growth and, in turn, consumers have turned their attention to fitness franchise concepts, like Fit Body Boot Camp, that satisfy their preferences.

  • Results

  • At Fit Body Boot Camp, our clients achieve results quickly. For example, a client in New Mexico lost 35 pounds in eight weeks. Dramatic transformations are common at our boot camps, where experienced and certified personal trainers lead 30-minute high-intensity interval training, or HIIT, workout sessions. Our workouts help our clients burn twice the amount of calories than the typical, non-guided, moderate workout at the gym. Our HIIT sessions trigger an afterburn effect, which means our clients continue to burn calories up to 36 hours after their workout.

But, it’s not just body transformation taking place. Other aspects of clients’ lives improve, too, because they feel better and have increased confidence. It’s these results that are helping the Fit Body Boot Camp franchise grow. Case in point: That client in New Mexico is now one of our franchise owners.

  • Convenience

  • Time-crunched consumers want everything quickly and easily. Those demands are why we see the rise of drive-thrus, delivery apps and smart speakers. They want their workouts to be quick, too. While workouts at other fitness franchises typically last 60 minutes, Fit Body Boot Camp trainers lead transformative HIIT workout sessions in just 30 minutes. Because of the intensity and afterburn effect, they don’t need to be any longer. Since our sessions are only 30 minutes, our clients can easily fit in a workout during the busiest of days.

  • Community

  • Although convenience is important, consumers also want to feel like they’re part of a community. Fit Body Boot Camp provides a strong sense of belonging through several avenues:

    1. Sessions include up to 30 clients at a time and are empowering because of the support from fellow clients as well as trainers. There’s no pressure or competition among clients – just results.
    2. Trainers work closely with each client, learning about their goals and fitness history. Fit Body Boot Camp trainers are a valuable resource for tips on both fitness and nutrition.
    3. Accountability is one of the major draws to group fitness models. Clients feel like they let down other members of their group if they don’t show up for a session. Fit Body Boot Camp takes accountability to another level. Trainers monitor each client’s goals, check in with them, and provide support when needed.
  • Affordability

  • Everybody appreciates affordability, even if they’re willing to pay more for services or products. In addition to results, convenience and community, consumers are enrolling with Fit Body Boot Camp because membership is budget-friendly. For $5 a day (versus the average of $20 a day at most specialty fitness franchises), clients get to work with a personal trainer, their results are tracked and they’re held accountable for the work they put into achieving their goals.

The Secret to Growing Strong

Naturally, when people are pleased with something, they talk about it. If it’s a product or a service, they recommend it to their friends and people in their networks. Referrals can be very powerful, but most fitness franchises don’t rely on them alone. However, Fit Body Boot Camp’s tremendous growth since 2010 is largely attributed to word of mouth. We have not spent a dime on traditional advertising. By helping our clients achieve results quickly in an atmosphere they love, their good news spreads quickly, more clients enroll at our franchise locations and our brand continues to expand at a rapid pace.

Fit Body Boot Camp Franchise is Recognized as One of America’s Fastest-Growing Companies on Inc. 5000 List

For a fourth consecutive year, Fit Body Boot Camp, the world’s fastest-growing fitness boot camp franchise, was recognized on Inc. Magazine’s annual 5000 List. The Inc. 5000 is the most respected rankings list of the nation’s most rapidly expanding private companies. Fit Body Boot Camp has earned a spot on the prestigious list every year since 2016.

The Inc. 5000 list, which began in 1982, only includes brands that have proven themselves with increased growth and revenue. Receiving recognition on the acclaimed list is one of the most coveted honors to hold as only the very best private companies are awarded the distinction of being recognized with this gold standard of entrepreneurial success.

Consumer Demand for Fit Body Boot Camp Grows

We put clients first. Fit Body Boot Camp is known for our focus on people. We know achieving results – whether losing weight, toning up, or maintaining health – is their number one priority when they visit one of our gyms. We also know they want a specialized and fun workout where they feel like part of a community. But, because everyone is busy and demands convenience, they need their workouts to be impactful in a brief amount of time.

Fit Body Boot Camp clients experience all that in their 30-minute HIIT group workout sessions with experienced and certified personal trainers. Our workouts help our clients burn twice the amount of calories than the typical, non-guided, moderate workout at the gym. And, clients keep experiencing it after they leave their Fit Body Boot Camp because they continue to burn calories up to 36 hours after workouts thanks to the Afterburn Effect.

That encourages clients to keep coming back. But so does the attention they receive from trainers and fellow clients, which makes up our community spirit. It’s part of what makes Fit Body Boot Camp so desirable among clients and individuals considering membership. Our trainers are committed to keeping each client on track with their goals. They regularly check in with each person and provide support and answers to fitness and nutrition questions.

Thanks to our community atmosphere, working out becomes much more enjoyable because it’s a lot like a social event. Clients are like-minded individuals working toward a collective goal, who keep each other motivated throughout workouts.

It’s this business model that keeps our client base growing, which leads to increasing demand for the Fit Body Boot Camp franchise concept across the globe. With more than 700 Fit Body Boot Camp franchises helping clients look good and feel good about themselves, and more than 100 in development, it’s no wonder demand is high.

  • Access to Fit Body Boot Camp Elite Training – a continuous training program for owners, coaches and facility leaders
  • Access to various workshops through the National Academy of Sports Medicine in addition to discounts on certifications

  • Revenue generation

With 2018 companywide revenue at $8.2 million and three-year growth of 330 woman at Fit Body Boot Camp doing dumbell squatspercent, the earning potential offered by Fit Body Boot Camp is also attractive to entrepreneurs interested in becoming fitness concept franchisees.

We understand our franchisees work hard running their businesses, so we don’t charge a percentage-based royalty fee like the great majority of other franchises do. Instead, we charge a fair flat fee of $997 a month, which allows franchisees to keep what they earn and reap greater rewards for greater effort.

Plus, launching the first Fit Body Boot Camp franchise location is easy and affordable. Expensive equipment is not required, maintenance is simple and low-cost, and our efficient training model and business systems allow for a small team with low overhead.

We also work to flood each Fit Body Boot Camp franchise with more client leads for franchisees to convert into clients – and we start before they even open their doors to help ensure a strong launch for the business.

Here’s the Grand Opening Franchise Marketing Support You Can Expect for Your Fit Body Boot Camp Gym 1024 683 WebDev

Here’s the Grand Opening Franchise Marketing Support You Can Expect for Your Fit Body Boot Camp Gym

You never get a second chance to make a first impression, so the success of your gym franchisee’s grand opening is crucial to a strong start in business. That’s why we provide our Fit Body Boot Camp franchisees with comprehensive franchise marketing support throughout the weeks leading up to their grand opening.

Not only does this help them generate awareness and excitement for their new business, but it also helps them build a robust client base before they even officially open their doors.

Here’s more on our comprehensive grand opening marketing support:

Following the Marketing Formula to Build Brand Awareness and Affinity

At Fit Body Boot Camp, the world’s fastest-growing fitness boot camp franchise, we’ve created a proven strategy to help gym owners attract their initial client base and continue building on that momentum.

Our fitness franchise’s step-by-step marketing strategy begins 12 weeks before you open the doors to your gym. This timeline typically begins the second you identify your fitness club’s location and address.

Our comprehensive marketing program features a multi-channel approach to digital marketing, including a combination of traditional local PR support and media outreach, promotional giveaways, e-mail campaigns and social media ads to generate awareness, nurture leads and convert those leads into paying clients.

Starting Off on the Right Foot with Potential Clients

The first part of our grand opening marketing strategy is all about generating awareness for your opening and helping you become known in your market. Specifically, that means leveraging our local media outreach and PR support. It also includes following our two-phase formula to build an e-mail list of prospects.

In order to generate local awareness and media coverage, we have partnered with the nation’s premier PR agency specializing in franchising. This helps our franchisees gain exposure for their location, drive new business and take their grand opening to the next level – all at no cost to them.

The 60-day PR support program includes a media contact list and a press release announcing the opening. Meanwhile, our PR vendor will conduct outreach to local print and online reporters, TV producers, bloggers and social media influencers, in an effort to secure local media coverage for the new opening.

For the two-phase prospect-building process, we help you build your e-mail list and generate leads by offering multiple membership giveaways.

Because you’re offering free memberships to your gym, these giveaways don’t cost you a penny – but they pay in dividends when it comes to building awareness and bringing people into your facility.

Setting the Tone for a Strong First Impression

Once you have the leads on your e-mail list, you can begin converting these leads into paying clients.

We will provide you with a detailed 12-week schedule, broken down by day, outlining the content to include in each e-mail in the lead nurturing campaign.

These e-mails help communicate your gym’s value proposition while showing prospects the tangible benefits and results achieved by previous Fit Body Boot Camp clients.

The e-mails and social media ads will also give leads who didn’t win the giveaway an opportunity to join the Grand Opening Program, which offers memberships at a highly-discounted rate. This helps create a sense of urgency and excitement among prospects while converting the rest of your leads into paying clients.

We strongly recommend you open with the number of people you can serve at a high level to give them a strong Fit Body Boot Camp experience. For most locations, this means acquiring 100 to 150 paying prospects for your Grand Opening 6-Week Ultimate Transformation Program.

By providing an unsurpassed level of service to these clients, you begin to build a positive reputation and can draw from a strong network of referrals and recommendations.

Backed by best-in-class marketing strategies and comprehensive grand opening support, Fit Body Boot Camp franchisees can begin building brand awareness and affinity from the very start.

From Military Boot Camp to Fit Body Boot Camp: Why Our Gym Franchise Was the Right Choice for this Female Veteran

Fit Body Boot Camp franchise owner Jodi Rund has always had a penchant for pushing others to realize their own power and potential.

It was this aptitude for teaching and helping people that has largely determined the course of Jodi’s own personal and professional life – from pursuing her degree in education, to finding new ways of motivating her combat unit in Iraq, to opening three Fit Body Boot Camp gym franchises in Palm Beach, Florida.

Jodi’s winding career path has taken many unexpected twists and turns, but throughout every endeavor, she has remained dedicated to her one guiding principle – doing everything in her power to guide individuals on their path to success and self-actualization.

Spending Her Senior Year Serving a Military Tour Overseas

Two years into pursuing her undergraduate degree at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Jodi realized she was running out of financial aid. She enlisted in the U.S. National Guard to help offset the cost of her education.

Six months later, she would find herself thrown into active combat training, immediately following the 9/11 terrorist attacks that claimed the lives of thousands of Americans. Several months after that, during the second semester of her senior year, Jodi and her unit were deployed to Iraq.

“We were so early within the rotation that we didn’t even have some of the right armor, and being on the frontlines in weapons and artillery, our unit also experienced the highest number of casualties out of all transportation units in the entire war,” Jodi said. “We lost our first man within 24 hours of landing overseas and suffered a total of 39 casualties, 34 injured and five killed in action, including my best friend, a single mom who left behind her six-year-old daughter.”

While travailing through an unimaginable situation, facing near-impossible odds, Jodi stepped into her first leadership role.

“That was really my first experience with actual coaching and guidance because you really need to trust each other and lean on one another in those extremely trying situations,” Jodi said. “I was always looking for new ways to keep our team motivated and find different team-building exercises to help prevent any bitterness or animosity that can be so pervasive in a war.”

Taking a Leadership Role with Fit Body Boot Camp

Jodi spent a year in active combat before returning to the United States, where she married her college sweetheart and earned her Master’s degree in education.

Soon after, she and her husband, Thad, moved to Costa Rica. There, she taught and later built an elementary school from the ground up. Jodi also started a girls’ basketball team at a local high school.

“Teaching and fitness have always gone hand-in-hand as some of my greatest passions,” Jodi said.

While Jodi taught and managed the school, she also started a personal training business. And, when the Runds had to move back to the U.S. for Thad’s job, Jodi still wanted to continue her work in the fitness industry.

The couple relocated to Palm Beach, Fla., where Jodi discovered Fit Body Boot Camp. The fitness franchise concept aligned with her sensibilities so much that she decided to become a franchise owner almost immediately.

“For me, it’s always been about doing the most good, and I soon realized that Fit Body Boot Camp would help me reach the most people and change the most lives,” Jodi said. “I absolutely fell in love with the brand, and six months after first learning about the opportunity, I opened my first Fit Body Boot Camp.”

Jodi opened her doors with six employees, whose well-being and development she took just as seriously as the development of each of her clients.

“To this day, the most rewarding part of my career is helping create a strong environment for employees and clients alike, both for people who work at the gym, as well as those who work out at our gym,” Jodi said.

Demand Builds: Expanding Her Gym Franchise Footprint

Just a few months after the gym’s grand opening, community members began asking Jodi about the possibility of adding Fit Body Boot Camp locations in the area.

“The community response was absolutely amazing,” Jodi said. “People loved the concept, and demand was extremely high.”

The next year, in 2017, Jodi opened another location in North Palm Beach, followed by a third in nearby Delray Beach in March of this year.

From military boot camp and active combat, to encouraging active lifestyles with Fit Body Boot Camp, Jodi has dedicated her entire life to coaching others and leading them along the path to success.

“Owning my own businesses with Fit Body Boot Camp has been one of the most rewarding things I’ve ever done,” Jodi said. “No matter how many hours I put in, it has never felt like work because I genuinely enjoy and appreciate the opportunity to help hundreds of people change their lives every day.”

From College Football Player to Fit Body Boot Camp Franchise Owner

The similarities between participating on a sports team and owning a Fit Body Boot Camp franchise are uncanny, making an investment in the fastest-growing fitness franchise a good play for anyone with athletic team experience.

Barrett Henson, a former college football player, is putting his gridiron experience to good use at his Fit Body Boot Camp gym in the Detroit suburb of Berkley.

For three years, Barrett played safety for the Albion College Britons. He would have played a fourth year, but shoulder and back surgeries sidelined him his senior year. However, he remained part of the team, attending games and practices.

“It was challenging mentally because I played while growing up, and my senior year in college came along and I was not able to physically play,” he said.

He loved the community aspect of being part of a team – the camaraderie, accountability and achieving goals together. This would one day be an integral part of his Fit Body Boot Camp franchise ownership experience.

“When you get around a group of people who work together and depend on you at your position, you realize the responsibility you have,” Barrett said. “It makes or breaks every play and every set of downs. You have 10 other people in your plan who are counting on you to execute on your assignment. It’s pretty special when you put it all together.”morning session at fit body boot camp

Moving the Ball Downfield Toward Business Ownership

Barrett graduated with degrees in business and communications. For eight years, he worked as a consultant for utility contractors. That experience also proved useful for owning a Fit Body Boot Camp franchise.

“I had to understand how to ensure profitability, manage costs and revenue, and various other things,” he said. “It helped build a very strong foundation for me to become a franchise owner.”

At the same time, Barrett took note of his brother Bryce’s achievements as a Fit Body Boot Camp franchisee, who owns gyms in California and Michigan. In 2014, he encouraged Barrett to explore the franchise opportunity because the fitness concept matched well with his persona and experience. Bryce became Fit Body Boot Camp’s Vice President of Business Development in 2018.

Barrett opened his Fit Body Boot Camp gym in Berkley, Mich., in 2015. His gym boasts more than 400 clients and an exceptionally high client retention rate.

“If you can keep clients in your gym and keep them engaged, then you’re doing it right,” he said. “Our coaches are extremely committed to that and making an impact on every client’s life. That is what I’m most proud of.”

Accountability Matters to Your Team and Fans

Barrett’s football coaches expected every player to work hard and hold themselves and each other accountable to achieve wins. That included early morning runs, workouts, training and practices. You had to assume that everyone was depending on you – coaches, teammates and fans. That’s team mentality, Barrett said.

It’s the same situation owning a small business. Barrett expects his employees to be committed to giving 100 percent of themselves when working with clients. Conversely, Barrett’s employees expect a lot from him, too.

“The team mentality has trickled down to everyone in our organization,” he said. “That comes directly from my experience on the football field. They make sure they do their part, so you’ve got to make sure you do your part.”

Clients are like fans. They depend on Fit Body Boot Camp franchisees and their teams to make them feel like winners by helping them achieve their fitness goals. The community aspect of Fit Body Boot Camp also makes clients feel like they’re part of a team working together during workout sessions.

“As a franchise owner, you help them be part of something bigger than themselves,” Barrett said. “You have the opportunity to share your experience with them. You get to be that fire in someone’s belly when they come in to work out.”

There’s a Team Out There for You

Because this culture exists in every kind of team – football, baseball, basketball, etc. – owning a Fit Body Boot Camp franchise is a viable option for the right person who has ever played a team sport. Although most young athletes don’t make it to the professional level, Barrett said they have the skills to excel in business ownership.

“You can be a pro at something else. For me, it took about eight years to figure out that it would be a career in health and wellness as a business owner,” he said. “And, I love it.”
